Random shots...

here're some random shots i got on my mobile during the trip...

wicked wasn't as impressive as we thought, but the set and atmosphere was still something to talk about.

and the spanish name for HELLO PANDA...

snuffy hubby brought my attention to these huge pez dispensers...

and we couldn't miss out on a visit to the pet store, where we saw this little cutie tyke of a welsh corgi pup! we were THIS CLOSE to buying him home...=(

and then it was off to dinner with the aunt and family at a korean restaurant, which served absolutely delicioso toufu soup...

the appetizers were almost as good as the main course...

and the highlight of the meal - spicy toufu soup with beef and seafood. =P yummy yummy for my tummy, i say!

and being the non-chilli eater he is, snuffy hubby at a non-spicy version of the soup.

we both agreed that the korean feast was the best meal we had while on honeymoon, given the good food and company. =)

this has got to be one of my favorite shots from our honeymoon...

i just love the glow on his face. =)

man with the plastic sunflowers..

happen to bump into Fiona again today. Commented on how good her pics look (from Lightedpixels.. those guys ROCK)...
then as i was waiting to cross the road, this old man decked out in plastic sunflowers and his motorcycle with plastic sunflowers too (looked like a swarm of sun flowers ate him and he's riding his bike to run away from them.. heeeeheeee)
zoom zoom by.
At the junction waiting to cross with me was this other old man who promptly turned back with a snicker and commented to this other gentleman standing behind him

"this guy not really right in the head...."

man... what ever happened to doing stuff just to make the general public smile?

my plan with the black beetle and yellow smiley faces must go on :)...

after the house
dog and
family car...

in this order :)

Honeymoon in LA / Disneyland

In LA, we were fortunate in that Serene's Aunt offered to room us in while we were there. So we stayed 3 nights there and we had 2 nights as well in Disneyland. The house that Aunt lived in was big and they had a very cute Labrador :)or was it golden retriever? heehehe

We packed and headed to Disneyland resort for our fun in mickeymouseland :) Wifey had tried to arrange for special favors since we are on our honeymoon. They did give us this picture where mickey and minnie signed on it and gave us best wishes. The hotel also gave us "Just Married" pins which we wore on our lanyards as we walked around Disneyland. The "cast characters" (i.e. staff) within disneyland will actually greet u and congratulate u when they see u, which was nice :). Wifey had arranged to have something special in the room. But when we arrived in the room, she was surprised to see that it was...normal. Then afterwards someone knocked on our door and i saw the housekeeping staff with rose petals. Then she had to reveal to me that she had asked them to arrange rose petals on the bed but they were a little.. late :P Oh well.. it was a very thoughtful gesture :) Love my wifey much much heehehe

The fireworks show wasn't as impressive as the HK one... mainly because i think the HK one has a theme to it. The LA one i think just basically showcases the rides they have in disneyland using fireworks.

After one day in Disneyland itself, we spent the next day in Disneyland California Adventure. This is like a slightly more adult version with more hair-raising rides. We had quite a lot of fun here too :)

where's mickey? :P

Shots of aunt trixie and family :) Oh we taught them some salsa and did more shopping after our disneyland trip. Thank you so much for having us! we certainly had a lot of fun and our honeymoon was enriched by our stay at your place Aunt Trixie and Uncle Parker! :)

yup.. dats our honeymoon in a nutshell :)
now its back to our lives in Singapore and what exciting things await for us :) For her is school, for me is.... erm... work ? *gasp*

heeheheh
we'll think of something for me..

Honeymoon in Montreal!

The montreal flight was interesting. It was a small 50-seater plane and only 1 single air steward. The single steward was funny and thus quite refreshing from our long and somewat bland flight in northwest from Singapore.

When we reached our hotel room, it was SUPERB. Our NYC room was pretty small and bleah.. but the location was very good. We could walk almost everywhere and there was the metro to help. The montreal was very big, spacious and we din really feel like moving out to walk around etc :p

After checking in , we went ahead to look for Just For Laugh (the festival was ON!) and walk the streets which have been marked off for the festival. Amazingly, even though the festival had a start date of the day we arrived, they were still setting up! If this was in Singapore, the whole thing would have been setup by now. Anyway....

We were walking around shopping and we saw the chance to watch HARRY POTTER in 3D IMAX glory! We originally wanted to come back to sg and catch the GOLD CLASS @ GV for this. However knowing that in SG we won't ever get a 3D movie and IMAX version at that so we bought tickets and watched. ITS AMAZING. The fight scene at the end? It was all in 3D. And it was really cool :) Glad we caught it..

So during the day we would go shopping and walking around. Coincidentally on the weekend we were there we managed to participate in a street fair. On this weekend, they closed down the entire road to allow a pasa malam type of environment. There was even a car competition so vintage car owners could show off their cars. Very nice :)

So what did we watch for Just for laughs in Montreal? Well we din manage to watch the big hitters like Brad Proots (all those actors from Whose line is it anyway) but we caught "The Asian Invasion" and "Defending the Caveman". Asian invasion featured a few comedians of various asian decents and it was really funny. I was rolling in my seat and tears streaming down my face. Defending the caveman was enlightening in terms of how man and how woman are now can be based on what has happened during caveman days. Very funny :) Overall we had an OK time in montreal though the buildings were rather drabby but the weather was much more cooling than in NYC :)
Off to LA we go!
