Voice Personality Hunt

i had wanted to take part in SMU's Broadcast and Entertainment team as a CCA, in addition to joining Caderas Latinas.

so i went to this audition, thinking that i was auditioning for a slot in the team...

of course, i hadn't gotten in...then.

but i got this email saying that i got into the VPH finals; that i was among the top 6 girls in the whole audition process.

we then had to do a radio show and a tv clip, which constituted part of our scores, before the main staged event on 25 september, tuesday night.

i really didn't think our radio and tv slots were good...me and my partner. but i guess we did the best we could under the circumstances. =P

the night before the the show, we had a briefing and ran some drills to get us in the mood.

unfortunately, all that did was demoralize us.

i couldn't do any on-the-spot improvisation and was in a very bad way since it was DAY ONE of THAT TIME OF THE MONTH. =(


so i felt for sure i was going to lose big-time, and embarrass myself in the process.

but it's amazing what lights and an audience can do for your nerves...you just pick up and go go go...and everything just happens in a flash.


round one was a game called props - each of us had to pick a random prop and a category and talk about it.

i got a kelly rowland poster and the "why-this-is-the-best-prop-to-turn-you-on".


so i made up something about learning how to do bodywaves on a flat surface, using the poster as the surface.

man was i glad when it was over!

that was an elimination round and well...i got eliminated.

so the 6 of us were ushered off the stage and watched the rest of the competition from ground level. *phew*

round two was a party, where everyone was given a character to play.

thereafter, the top two (joshua and gladys) were chosen and they had to take over hosting the show until the final results were out.

one overall winner was crowned at the end, and then there were the best tv vj and best radio presenter prize-winners too.

we were told that the latter two prize-winners would be in the top 6 as well, so all of us who were sitting in the audience were probably struck off the list already.

but i won best radio presenter. =) it really was a pleasant surprise.



the best part of tonight was how snuffy hubby stayed by my side (it felt like he was!) and he was, at points of the competition. =)

he got a starhub goodie bag when he was called upon to join me onstage for a little "stunt".

he's my pride, i tell you...even judge margaret chan said he had more stage presence than me! =P



and everyone said it's nice to see how loving we are...yay.

it's amazing how my snuffy hubby's got such a calming effect on me.

i love telling the world that i am married to him. and i did it onstage, today.

Ding 52! 6d 10hr

Yay.. 52.. 6 more levels to outland. Got a spanking helm last nite @ Zul'Farrak (or zulfakfak as i like to call it) and i am tops of DPS charts. Yay for BM and BRK. Been reading the website regularly and getting very pleased with my BM hunter now. :P onwards we will go !

ding 50 ! 6d 03hrs

so after spending abt the same avg 8 hrs, i dinged 50 :) 8 more levels to go..... should be good now that i got the guide going.... While i was leveling away i noticed this strange sight...

See the little green bubble? its a FART bubble. Yes the giant suddenly gave out a green bubble underwater and it floated up and out of the water. The giant then turned and popped it and a green gas came out. The giant waved the hand that is holding that giant hammer and proceeded to continue on his merry way :)

Wifey and me went to meet up with her relatives for dinner today and then proceeded to watch "I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry" with wife, mother-in-law and the brother. The show is quite typical of Adam Sandler. As in its usually a feel-good movie but still there is a moral behind the movie. I definitely enjoyed the movie as many of his other movies (like 50 first dates etc) and the wifey did too :) It was a great way to enjoy a nice sat and let the wifey relax after spending so many days being stressed about work and homework :) I hope she gets the groove soon and then all these assignments etc won't be too difficult for her anymore :)

5d 19hrs.... omg 5 days... sheesh... i given up instancing and just follow this guide http://www.wow-pro.com/node/880 to level up my char to 58 or so and then go outland and start instancing :P apparently the way to get exalted rep is to start doing instancing @ outland as soon as you can and then after reaching honored or revered and then do the quests so that you can reach exalted easily :)

Here i to ! 22 more levels to go !

now, worse, he got himself into trouble and managed to drag quite a boat load of pple down with him.... and because... he was stressed.... over his ex-gf...

wats the point really ? i mean objectively its just a girl. breakups and heartaches are part and parcel of life.. But i guess all this type of views can only come from experience and maturity.

I must admit that when i had my 1st breakup, i was depressed too... and ever hopeful that things will be well again....

BUT never had i tot to do something silly.... i mean ending of life, stealing rifle, harming someone?

yes count em.. 9 boxes of krispy kremes :) Wifey introduced that to me when we were in HK i think. I did try b4 but wasnt that big a fan till wifey showed me the PROPER way of eating it (that is to microwave it for like 10 secs b4 i ate it). anyway if you havent been to singapore, there has been a sudden influx of donut shops here in sg. I mean its crazy. It reminds me of when the Rotiboy fad was here. Pple actually queue up 3 hours to buy a box of donuts. I mean 3 HOURS....
We tried one box from the shop @ VIvo and we weren't impressed.... at all. So i feel that its more of a fad than anything. Was talking to a colleague that went with me to Manila (thus the reason why there are SO MANY boxes of KKs) and she was telling me that to setup the franchise here in Singapore, you require abt $1mil captial and a promise to open like 5 shops in 3 years or something like that.

WOw.....

but we agreed that KKs beat the rest hands down. For those of you that have ate the other donuts or are queueing regularly for the donuts... STOP... seriously you don't know any better thus you are eating the other donuts. We forgive you... repent and you shall be saved with Krispy Kremes ! :p

Oh i am BACK from manila :) Its been a pretty interesting experience and would be fun to go travelling. As long as its short short trips and i have plenty of free internet access.

there are good restaurants and there are bad restaurants. Then there are restaurants that shouldn't have the cheek to open but do... Food here in Philippines is not bad. Pretty ok western food so far. The buffet for lunch today was ok. THe US roast beef was good. But there was 1 jap restaurant that we had dinner at on sat before i flew over was REALLY BAD.

MOF at marina square there where the Jack's place etc are. The food is really bad. I ordered Karaage soba and there are only 3 pieces of karaage and a whole lot of soba. :( Pricey too. Wifey ordered spicy noodles and it sucked too. SO i would STRONGLY NOT recommend going there to eat.. ever.....again..


we should have stuck with Secret Recipe .... *grumble*

We are family... i got all my politics and me :p

1st Sept was my co's family day. The 2nd co event that i attended and this time my wifey was with me :P so happy..
it was held @ fort canning and the place was pretty much an open grass area for everyone to have fun. This place has certainly changed a lot from the memories of my childhood. I spent p1 to p6 here as ACPS (was situated at coleman street then) and we used to go on top to a big skating ring for our PE. So my memories was mostly of walking up long flights of steps and passing this muslin grave (just 1 grave. i think it belonged to a sultan) and then playing Captain's ball at the skating ring.
Anyhoo.. wifey and me jumped in and participated in the games. We had fun and i got a chance to see wifey in action with the kids again. Generally though i felt that some pple miss the real objective of this family day event.. and that is to have fun, mingle and let the kids have fun too. During some of the games, you can see how competitive and how.. missing-the-point some pple are when they push and shove the kids as if they were just mere toys/objects. Very sad. One of the kid i think couldnt stand the pressure and all the scrutiny and was crying afterwards. Wifey noticed this and talked to her patiently when she got bac and well she made frens :)
its nice to see how good my wife is with kids.... makes me very confident of our parenting future..heheeh

so my birthday came and went :) wifey surprised me with a barrel mud cake from VTeaRoom and we had a nice birthday celebration of our own in my room. The next day we went for a nice lunch buffet @ the Marriot. We din really eat a lot but the food was not too bad. By the 2nd course i just HAD to tackle the dessert trays hehehe...
Then we had a nice time @ Vivo, watching gold class tickets for Rata-2-e, the latest pixar film. As always, the film was entertaining and quite heart warming to watch. Gold class was interesting as the seats are rather comfy.... but i guess u get more bang for buck if u watch super long films in them :)
Still, it was very nice of wifey to plan all these for little ole me.... THANKS MY LOVE ! hehh
nxt monday i shall embark on my first business trip in my new company ! Going to....... MANILA... eeps..... luckily i bringing the macbookpro with me so at least when i am hunkered down in my hotel i can hopefully surf the web, skype with wifey and log in some gaming time...
