Angel in disguise? (we sure hope so!)

After cleaning up and all we picked up the brother-in-law and went for a car ride.
My first car ride!

whatcha lookin' @?

Uncle Thiru pronounced Comet a healthy pup and we are glad. He walks good too (as we have seen on his first walk). So we dropped him off @ home and he seems to have dozed off (we will know later that he's full of boundless energy and this is like a little nap for him... ~sigh~) and went shopping @ IKEA. Bought a bunch of more stuff and came back to a very awake and very noisy little tyke...so we played a little with him (though he keeps testing his boundaries, and we keep going "NO!") we got him ready for his night walk...

naughti naughti....

The night walk was very informative as the breeder was there with us showing his some tips and tricks on what to do (like commands and how to use the chain to help teach the pup) For a 2 month old puppy, he's picking up things fast and learning well. He especially walks well with wifey as we tink wifey has got more command tone than wishy-washy softie me.... (this i gotta learn too! *grin*). This time we walked him a whole lot (or again so we thought).. so after he got back we gave him his first bath here. He was all quiet and did not fidget or struggle too much though he felt uncomfy when we used the hairdryer on him. He was in a state of both sleepiness cos of the walk and experiencing a new thing (air blowing straight into his fur) so he dozed off in my hands and woke up again and dozed off again..

his first bath...

here's his playpen and the new nightlight (green one!) which we think is etter and we thought he would settle in for the night....

or so we thought again....

seems he started yelping and making a whole lot of noise again so we decided to wake up at around 630ish and try feeding him (wasn't hungry) and got him out for another walk. one good thing was today is teacher's day so no students around and the roads were relatively empty. We walked and walked and got back home before i had to change to come to work. He was refusing to eat still but pooped out and started snoozing.. we hoped he would be quiet for the rest of the day...

or so we thought...... again.....

last status update was he was awake again and yelping so wifey got him to walk again (even further) and gave him some food to eat. Oh the neighbour's little girl met our little one and he was all angelic and quiet in front of her. But with us he's like testing his limits (thus the title of this post....)

He's snoozing now again and I sure hope he will remain calm till i reach home this evening for this walk. We have decided to give him 2 walks this evening to see if we can tire him out b4 he snoozes...

we sure hope so :p on the other hand, we will sure get fitter as we attempt to go for runs next time with Comet...

Oh and btw, wifey is absolutely amazing with the poopie... er i mean puppy....

heehee

our first nightie and walkie...

so the night was kinda ok... we woke up twice as he was whining and trying to burrow his way outta the pen.

we each held him for a while, then put him back in his pen and stayed there with him until he drifted off.

then we woke up really early this morning because wifey thought she heard some really loud whining (we stay on the third floor of the house so comet had to be really loud to have us hear him). and when he saw us, he just wagged his little tail so hard! we spent some time playing with him until he became a little restless, then left him to whine his heart out. and then he chilled.

walking him was a whole other ballgame. comet would kick and scream up a huge fuss before taking a few steps.

we were approaching a house which boards huskies and the little one just kept whining. the adult huskies in the house sorta sensed a "pup in distress" call and started howling out loud. soon the whole lot of them were making so much noise that we hurried away. =P think its some pack mentality and to protect their young pups ....

walking comet is still tough, but at least he's walking. and the best part is...he's pooped after walking. =)

trying to get him to poop...

trying to get him to chew that bone but he's just not interested.. also he drinks from a bowl rather than from the water dispensing device :P

32 years old!

its my birthday again :) while most of the stuff did not happen on the actual day itself (i was sneezing like crazy and had to stay back to do migration :(.... ) nevertheless i still managed to celebrate a quiet birthday with my parents and wifey

it was the next day (sat) that most of the exciting things happened....
first we watched wall-e at GV Grand gold class. Now for those who have never tried gold class, well its definitely a must try sometimes, just to be able to nua in a big big comfy seat and watch a big ole movie on the big ole movie screen.

the show, as expected is rather nice and sweet.. graphics wise is impressive and you only realise that there ain't that much verbal conversation between the movie's main characters and its pretty much a physical connection they made. So all in all, for a movie made this way, its done really well. GO WATCH!

before that, we brought my parents to go see Comet. Mom was rather apprehensive still but nevertheless gave it a try to carry and play with the doggie. Daddy (who loves animals btw) was very amused and happy during our little visit. The home breeder suggested that we bring back the doggie so that he can get used to our voices and get more familar with us. After some discussion, and a couple of hours later (from the movie and dinner), Comet is now resting (hopefully peacefully) at my father's work area near the kitchen 2 floors below us. We left a little red "Ghost" nightlight (from Ikea for sgd$25) on and a big honk fan for the little one and i hope he gets comfy with the space we have given him.

Pretty much after i met the wifey, my life's been super exciting and super eventful, all of which make me feel extremely alive and extremely happy to be alive and to have met her. Can't really imagine how i will be like and how my birthday would have been (probably @ union square *GRIN* but definitely not as happy!) if i had not met her.

So for the next year what do i hope? More excitement i guess (as we will be moving into our own place and doing the things couples do :p) and more contentment on the career front..

OH and to train Comet to listen to us and groom him to be a steady-steady-bom-pi-pi husky!

Go US!

Another wonderful weekend...

not counting my poor stamina in the IPPT, the weekend was pretty fun. Sat we had lunch @ Aston's grill (which is always good and economical) and went to see Comet. I think we stayed there for a good 1 hr or so playing with Comet and his brother "Naughti". Took loads of pictures (which you can view in my facebook) and generally tried bonding with the little one. After which we went Light shopping. Man, Balestier Road is THE place to look for lights. So many to choose from and look at. But buyer beware. Wifey bought a MR P. Lamp for about sgd$30+ (though the pedigree is questionable as the box notes it as Mr Shy.... go figure) and we saw an identical piece at this other BIG light shop that sold it for almost sgd$100! But still we saw a lot of lights and bought a mini-lightbulb as a desktop lamp. We will definitely go back again this coming weekend to buy our bedroom ceiling lights...
Sat evening we decided to make a little trip down to Union square to get our dancing legs (and my stamina) back again. It was surprisingly empty (though people there told us its been like this a while) for a saturday evening but still managed to meet a few good friends there. Now that I am married, I find that I can be contented just sitting at the sidelines observing the dancers and still have a good time.
A good fren asked how did i get hooked up with wifey and i just mentioned the usual stuff: asking her out, dinner, meals, movie, that sort of thing. I guess i got really intrigued when i saw her dancing at USQ. She always seemed to be enjoying herself, laughing, being amused and generally having a good time (just like me!) that its wonderful to just watch her dance. Her idea of dancing is pretty much same as me in that we just want to have a good time and would like our dancing partner to chill out, relax and enjoy themselves too. I never got how people can look so strict or intense when dancing is supposed to be enjoyable. So i tend to smile, laugh, have fun.. though some people mentioned that my smiling freaked them out a little as they were wondering what's wrong or what's so funny... *GRIN* In anycase, yea its a combination of her at USQ and her blog that gave me a glimpse into how wifey is like and why she is so different and of cos, made her so wonderful in my eyes....

Sunday was mahjong with the in-laws and a birthday celebration for grandma-in-law as it was her 92nd birthday. Lotsa kids running around and doing what they produce best ~ Noise. :p

3 more weeks to moving in.
4 more weeks to getting our pup in the home
x more weeks to gatherings @ our new place...

we can't wait :p

let's groove tonight.

at grace's insistence (and because i had to return her dinner money =P), the hubby and i made a trip down to union tonight.

trying to dance after a really long while is, indeed, TRYING.

first, we can no longer dance six songs in a row. second, i had to get back into the dancing groove, and essentially feel comfy back on the dancefloor.

fortunately, i had some old friends to help me ease back into things.

and even as snuffy hubby and i sat and watched, we had a good time. so thanks to grace for nagging at us to go. =)

today also marked our second visit to the breeder's, where our little baby comet is. it's just been one week, but he's grown!

mom once told me that dad is afraid of dogs because he was bitten by one when he was a kid. so i thought it'd be a good idea to let him meet comet and play with him a little, since it's still a puppy.

dad was still rather wary, but at least he carried comet for a bit. =)

the brother has also become a husky convert. =P he's been encouraging us to get a goldie forever. but he's changed his mind somewhat after meeting comet. =)

comet's brother was sold for more than S$3,000 because of his color. he's a red, and his eyes look especially blue because of his light color. comet's eyes are blue too, but his markings make it look darker.

while comet's brothers do look more unique, we're happy with our little boy. though snuffy hubby and i think that his tongue will forever stick out like that.

omg... wifey will so want this lor...

http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/21/fujitsu-u2010-comes-to-japan-as-the-loox-u-b50n-all-tokidoki/

ah how i suck...

after so many years of playing warcraft... i decided to try something different (that was before i got accepted to Warhammer beta testing. But i am STILL downloading the 9.3GB client! *Faint*). So i decided to try Eve online again. I tried it before and it was quite complex. Way more complex but more free form than WoW. This time i decided to subscribe for 1 month and see what might happen.....

then i realise what a carebear player (meaning those that does not like unsolicited conflict) i am :p

Proof of that? see the screenshot below and you can see how many ships (and ISK! which is the ingame credits) i have lost :( ~sigh~....

I sure hope the client gets finished soon and then i can try warhammer which i have been reading so much about! :p If these doesn't work out, well there's always Fallout3 heheheehhe

Another exciting weekend..

Besides Singapore finally getting another medal (and the amusing comment from our first medal winner some 40+ years ago), we had a very very exciting weekend.
We went to vivo and got our starhub stuff (mobile + cabletv + internet) settled and i got myself a new phone. Sonyericsson G900. Now to figure out how this thing works... So by the time we move, we should have all the works setup.
We also bought a few other household items from Ikea and Tangs and watched SPACE CHIMPS. Its not a bad show.. but its more for fun and laughter than a serious movie. Still good for laughs :)
Then come sunday, that's when we had our next biggest purchase (as can be seen from wife's previous entry) *GRIN* Initially I had wanted the little lady because she seemed more behave and docile.. and our little boy had that thing about the tip of his tongue always sticking out... quite endearing really but we probably have a lot of mopping up to do around the house!
So now armed with all this dog knowledge from the breeder, lets see how the little runt turns out to be!

for the benefit of mr comet.

please welcome the newest addition to the lim-teo family. =)

this little fella came to us rather unexpectedly.

we were at vivocity when snuffy hubby got a phone call from someone who said "the puppies are ready for viewing". we were extremely surprised to hear from him because it seemed like eons ago when we told him we were ready to adopt.

and just when we have pretty much given up on our bernese mountain dog hopes, he calls.

snuffy hubby then said "it's a sign". and i wasn't really sure because he was previously rather skeptical about huskies.

but today's viewing pretty much sealed the deal. snuffy hubby was more taken by his docile sister, while i thought this cheeky little guy had more character. and his markings were more distinct, i thought.

so we decided on him, and spent the next couple of hours chatting with the breeder/trainer on how to break him into our new house.

and of course, spent the next few hours deciding on a name. =)

welcome home, little comet.

Rest in Peace Great Grandma!

Here's a picture of my Great Grandma at our wedding day. She passed away at the grand old age of 98 last monday and this week is the funeral/wake.

Before her unfortunate fall about 2 years ago, she was still very active and alert for someone of her age. She would still play mahjong as and when its possible and even beat us at the game. Then she fell down and her mind went downhill from there.

Today was the major ceremonial part of the funeral which accumulated into burning of a lot of paper. House, car etc. What was amusing though was the number of cameras flashing. I used to think it was taboo to take pictures during a funeral, thus whenever i attended a funeral i never brought my camera along, even though i REALLY wanted to as its a wonderful opportunity. So when i see my relatives whip out their cameras when wifey and me so wanted to take pics but did not due to the taboo thing, it amused me to no end....

Rest well and wherever you may be, I hope you are happy! :)

we'll live and love within our own four walls.

it's been a while since my last proper blog.

i haven't written as well since i met snuffy hubby. and sometimes, i wonder if my words have left with my angst.

blogging used to be an outlet, and only people who knew me well would know what i wrote about. even if some entries were about happy occasions, they were still written by an angst-filled niƱa.

not that i hate being happy.

my current state is a combination of a healthy dose of optimism (courtesy of eric), and a major dose of skepticism and cynicism. i am, after all, a product of my experiences. and no one, not even eric, can change that. but he gets all the credit for contributing to my well-being and injecting some fun into my otherwise "extremely practical and serious" life.

as he's opined in his previous entries, we've created a new life with our best traits, while still keeping our strongest individual traits. we've succeeded in creating our unique formula for a healthy and strong marriage.

when people ask how we always seem to have the perfect union, i say "communication". we spend hours on end sharing about everything that may come up. and when i say hours, i do mean when we're in the car, having meals, or while we're in the room doing our own things. we're comfy enough to have no-holds-barred conversations.

i think we have a perfect marriage. for us. which means i don't think our formula is a one-size-fits-all one for other couples, simply because of who we already are as individuals.

another thing i believe in strongly is that most marriages (for the right reasons) have huge potential to succeed, if they are left to create their own rules. the one big issue i've faced in mine is adaptability. i'm known to be good at what i do and one of the most adaptable people around. but my in-laws stump me. and while i've adapted to their way of life (of sorts), i simply can't bring myself to adopt certain values they hold because that would mean giving up an integral part of my individuality.

so while i love my in-laws dearly (and the same goes for eric and my parents), i really look forward to moving out later this year.

one thing eric and i really succeeded in doing (and i do think eric plays a huge part in this) is to live our lives under our own rules, while living under his parents' roof. and i am extremely happy that this part of our marriage is not compromised. my husband plays a huge part in making this a success because he used to just allude to all decisions his family makes. now, he has learnt to make his own decisions and prioritize our relationship.

i'm a huge believer in disruption as a way to get people to sense up and think. and in my mind, i see myself as the huge atomic bomb that fell on my in-laws. they don't quite know what to do with me. =P

i was inspired to this entry by the people who look up to us enough to ask us for relationship advice.

thank you for your vote of confidence, and we're always ready to listen. and help, if we can. =)

so says the angsty little niƱa.

OMGRAWR :)

Iracham > the uncertainty principle dictates that whenever two women are alone in a room, they are engaged in lesbian sex.

EmmDee Cutter > only if drinking is involved

Nornic Blaise > -_-

EmmDee Cutter > scratch that, if drinking is involved there is no uncertainty

Jeckt Mallix > is that why they always seem to go to the bathroom in pairs when out drinking?

Iracham > Yes.

Kyllashandra > thats a secret :P

Teyrala > that must be why they take so long too

for this and more ROFL quotes,
http://omgrawr.net

OMFG....

so yesterday me n the wifey were on board the express bus (it takes only abt 15-20mins to reach home!) and as we sat down we noticed this nicely dressed man in the seat next to us.
he proceeded to sit in such a way that occupies like 80% of the entire seat (yes one of those big ballas type) and take off one shoe.
take off that sock.
and scratch his foot/leg silly.
and he was on the phone whilst doing that.
he did this for like 2 stops.
then when more people got on he stopped.

At times like this i wish its legal to carry a cattle prod in Singapore.
I will surely go:
*ZAP* omg.. what on earth are you doing?

how much is that doggie in the window?

4k!
*gasp* no way!
well a newborn pup will be abou 4.5 to 5k.. that one which is 5 months old is about 4k.
*gasp*......
That's pretty much how our doggie hunting went....we are now thinking if it will be cheaper if we went to australia and searched and brought the doggie back ourselves.... *cross fingers*... or if anyone is parting with their bernese in SG? Anyone got lobang? :P

Barang Barang was our friend again last sunday as we walked around hoping to take advantage of their 43% discount. After roaming for about an hour or so @ the singpost centre branch, we settled on a nice leather sofa bed to fit into the study room. Sweeeeeeeeeeet....

Wifey's talking with her uncle on thursday on designs we have for our apartment and we will have power and water today i think :)

4-5k... dang pup why arent thou so expensive? :P

what to do this weekend...

well.... we got some measurements off our place so it might be good to see if it measures up to what we have bought so far (it should! if not.. well.. not sure what else we can do.. hahha)
i sure hope what we have bought will fit well into the place :)
Now we have to get our uncle to go take a look at the place and do the ID design. Hope that all can be tied down so that the renovating can start on 1st Sept and we can move in soon :)
So this weekend, we can go look for 2 high-chairs and possibly a day-bed OR just some stools for the study room. And also see where we can get our doggie and if we need to book or what not
*GRIN*

we got our keys!!!

i had a meeting earlier with a client before rushing down to raffles place to collect the keys to our new apartment. =)

the train ride to the west wasn't as bad as i thought, and i hope the journey will keep feeling as good for a long time to come.

the walk from the mrt station to the condo was shorter than i expected (a pleasant surprise).

as i stepped out of the lift onto the landing of the floor our loft sits on, i was hit by the strong gusts of wind. it was a good feeling.

just turning the key at the front door was like undoing the ribbon on a present. turning the knob was like taking the lid off the box.

and the contents sure didn't fail to please.

i went in, lifted the curtains, opened the windows, and took a deep breath. i felt home.

i tried taking a few pictures, but decided they didn't do the place justice.

we're happy. =)

next stop: interior-designing.

FUN FUN FUN!

overdue handphone peektures!

inside KA

streets of LA

Eiffel Tower

Eiffel Tower

All we need is LOVE!

With all compliments...

wifey was commenting how we bring out the best of each other and usually come up with a bestest combination. Like the doggie... she wanted a huskie, i prefered a goldie.. but then we chance upon a Bernese mountain dog and that will probably be the puppy we will be gettin' (though we have only seen it @ shops so far. anyone know any home breeders in SG?)
Wifey commented how it was the same with our marriage and all we have done so far as well. We each bring our own slice of heaven to the table and from it we create our own little paradise. She fights for what she believes in while i tend to be more happy-go-lucky. This was demonstrated last weekend when we were looking for parking. I had signaled for a lot (though i was a whee bit far away) but this other person with his children just drove into our lot when it became unoccupied. Wifey was peeved and wanted to tell the guy off but i drove on a little ahead and waited. Just within a few minutes I had another lot empty for me to park.

~GRIN~
today i was checking out the pictures that have accumulated in my handphone with me and my wifey and i was remembering how the first time she put her head on my shoulder and how nice it felt (it still feels very good baby!) heheheh... bliss.... can't wait for tomorrow when we are a step closer to the next chapter of our lives!

The Dark Knight ~ Why so serious?

man... what a good show. it just grabs you in your seats and you just keep watching and watching till the finale. Its definitely different from the other superhero movies that we've been watching so far and that's not a bad thing either. As the wifey mentioned after the movie, it has a philosophical edge to it too. Especially the part where they pit the nature of man against man. Game theory if you will which is all every intriguing and frightening at the same time. I mean i wouldn't want to know if there is a criminal in the real world that works the same way as the Joker.

"Why so serious?"

NDP 08 Preview - meh...

well wouldn't you know it, we got lucky today. Wifey's colleague got 2 tickets to the preview that evening and was looking for people to go. Seeing that me and wifey haven't been to a live NDP for some time, we decided to go for it.
The feeling we took away from this year's NDP though was merely a MEH in my opinion. The military part of the parade was as usual so nothing too special nor bad there. The performance pieces were however quite boring. Because when you watch from home, usually the commentators are there to provide some info about the performance so you get a better sense of what is happening. Mostly we were just sitting there watching. Of course the fireworks were impressive and at the end when the MAYBANK building had the words NDP 08 scrolling on its entire length, that was cool too. Otherwise, the NDP left us feeling rather MEH.
Anyway, here are some peeks to share :)

NEver again shall we squeeze with sO MANY pple just to get in and get out of the NDP venue... never again..... (or until our kids beg us to go.... *BLEAH*)
