let's dance on the street...

it's been such a long time since snuffy hubby and me got on the dancefloor.

the last time was probably the singapore salsa festival. =P

last night was a must-go for two reasons:

1) it would be interesting to see salsa from the tertiary crowd; and
2) it was webster's farewell party

i was more inclined to go because i wanted to say goodbye to webster and catch up with my salsa buddies from way back.

the hubby and i haven't been dancing much since we got married, and since school started last year, our salsa outings have pretty much become non-existent.

it's a shame, because we love dancing. and we love that we both share that passion for it.

so last night was good for the both of us...we scored a couple of dances together and even managed to dance some with our old pals. =)

it was nice seeing the union square gang again as well...simon, gloria, sunny boy, jackson, june...

and it was slightly sad saying goodbye to the big guy - webster.

he's the kinda fella who you'll look at and go "my gosh, if he can learn to dance, so can i".

in a good way, that is. =)

the other part of the party was watching with pride as some of my classmates performed with the team. they've come a long way.

and it's great to see how enthusiastic they still are about dancing.

rock on, people.

the hubby and me are aching to put on those dancing shoes again.

a little snuffy .....

at this very moment, wifey has fallen asleep, hugging our little snuffy (the toy version of the big woolly mammoth from Sesame Street)...
she looks so wonderful tis way :)

i love her to bits...

the way she brought chocolate goodies for me when she met up with me to take the bus ride home after work today was really something....

its been a long week for me and very brain-draining at work.. but i never fail to cheer up when i see her :)

oh and i've been reading Marley for her. And its funny to read out loud since i haven't really done it since i was a whee toddler (i joined a Kid chinese story telling competition when i was very young... go figure :P ) i realise i tend to gloss over words without pronouncing properly and i get stuffy nose after reading for sometime..
and duno why, but my eyes will glaze over after a while..

but i tink i never fail to make my wife laugh and giggle with my reading :P

thanks yous dear for allowing me to be myself, to laugh @ my jokes and my antics :) to love me for who i am..

THANKS BABY!

snuffy.

the brother, hubby and me went to dim sum dollies last night.

i've been to the show at least two other times before, and am coolness impressed by the recency of the jokes and quick wit. =)

they've only got tickets left for shows on monday thru thursday, so go grab them!

the brother is also rather groupie-like so we were second-in-line for the autograph session after the show...

it as also airshow weekend and we spotted a whole load of AIRSHOW BMWs at the marina square parking lot.

i couldn't resist snapping a picture of one of the license plates...

and today was snuffy hubby's gramp's birthday.

we went for seafood at IMM and then over to her place for some durian birthday cake.

snuffy hubby and me even managed to sneak to mini toons for a bit to grab a stuffed snuffleluffugus.

we've been eyeing this for quite a while but finally decided to get it.

and i brought it back to the parents' place with me for the evening.

i've got way too much work to do and an assignment to hand up tomorrow.

desperate times call for desperate measures so i tore myself away from the hubby to fully concentrate on work.

i will miss him tonight but at least i've got snuffy with me.

i just hope he gets why i need to be alone tonight.

i love you snuffy hubby.

something i heard over the radio....

so today i heard the Recall manning announcement over the radio....
basically certain code words were announced over the radio and it went something like this....

"....Deadly Scorpion, Husky Voice and Mountain Dew...."

Husky Voice? good lord, i wish i knew which unit's call sign is HUSKY VOICE :P

amusing

salsa on the high seas ....

so we went on a cruise again this weekend and it was fun.
i once again confirm that i cannot make $$ from gambling. So i should stop.... or maybe when i come back from Vegas and then stop. Hahhaahh but we have determined a plan of action that involves letting the luckier one among us to gamble for us. We shall see......

We also had a super mahjong session on the ship which more than makes up for about a year of mahjong for us. HEHheheh... wifey managed to learn a lot more about mahjong without paying too much of a school fee so that's cool. Now we can always have weekly mahjong sessions if we have nothing else to do :p

other than that, we had ourselves a salsa session on the cruise. There was this hot salsa party after the bingo (which we din win again :*( ) and after the crew finished their session we went out to dance. I think most of the crew can't really dance other than the steps they use to teach the audience so they were like oooo-ing and ahhh-ing when we were dancing (which was really just simple steps). I wasn't really paying much attention to them though and i was expecting them to just dance and enjoy themselves. Instead they just all watched us dancing and even gave us 2 small tokens as presents for being sporting.

whatever is was though, it was really fun to dance with the wifey ... our little looks and kisses inbetween dances make it really a fun and enjoyable experience. No need to worry about combinations or fancy smancy shines, just being ourselves and being in love more than makes up for lousy shoes and no warmups.

I love dancing with the wifey and maybe when she gets more free from school we can make it a regular point again :)

on the home front, i wish everything will be fine in the upcoming few months.
If nothing else though, i have the USA trip to look forward to.
now is all the planning again (similar to what i did for our honeymoon)....
I can't wait to watch cirque du soleil's KA ever since we saw it on CSI. Its a little pricey but should be worth it. There's also Star Trek attraction @ LV.
Haven't really plan much for LA and NY... but LA involves a ranch visit and NY will proably be some musical....

so fun :)

he reads to me...

i felt real low saturday night.

the tummy felt like it was up in knots...

and so, the hubby tucked me into bed with a hot water bottle and read me a part of "Marley and Me".

he said he had never read to anyone before that, so i should tell him if he was going too fast.

he is such a great book-reader-a-louder. =P

i love it when he glances over at me at times to see if i was falling asleep, or just to look at my expression.

and there were occasions when he would stop suddenly, widen his eyes, then fall onto bed in a heap.

like, seriously.

after the second heap, he gave up and went to bed.

and i read the last three pages of the chapter myself. =)

back to books...

school starts tomorrow and i'm feeling slightly bummed.

not sure why but i feel perpetually tired, and slightly frustrated about some things that are outta my hand.

it's also that time of the month and even though i don't get terrible mood swings, i get horrible cramps that last me through days...=(

the cramps render me totally helpless, and in bed. and if you know me, you'll know how much i hate that. bloody unproductive.

on the flip side, thank goodness the cramps came after the first two days of the chinese new year.

baby haley (cousin tim's kid) loves to put those red packets into her mouth.

the first night of the chinese new year...at my uncle's annual big gathering.

bro and me at the nanny's place...

the cousins and me...all of us were taken care of by this wonderful woman and her husband when we were wee toddlers.

i love that the hubby was right next to me through the whole visiting craziness this CNY.

we made the red packet distribution and visits fun for each other. =)

patron's day photos...

some belated photos of mr president...

...and dr richard hu. =)

oh...i emceed the event. =)

this one's for the children....

for the ones that life left behind,
for the ones that fate resigned;
for the ones that were led astray,
for the ones that are very suay;
for the ones that still fight the fight,
for the ones that strive to take flight;
for the ones that never give up,
never give up, never give up;

Wifey always had a thing for children. Especially since her experience with her brother's illness many moons ago, she has had an intimate knowledge of just how sad and unfair life can be sometimes especially for the innocent ones. Even now we get reminders from her aunt who is taking care of "unwanted" children that life can get quite real (or unreal) sometimes.
This sem she has a class where she got the chance to do something about it. She decided to organise a CNY party for those children who are suffering from cancer and maybe stuck in wards for the CNY. Last nite she was telling me about her experience and she broke down when she was talking about this little girl she met and played with. I do wish i was there with her but i myself might get emo as well...
still..
i love her for being emo.. and i love that she loves kids.. most of all, i love how we will be bringing up our kids together and the love, hugs and kissies we will shower on our kids...
most of all, i want to be able to show her and my family all the joys and wonder that life can bring..

Life in reality is harsh and can be very cruel. You are reminded of just how shitty it can be and sometimes you can only exclaim to the sky W-T-F.... but instead of focusing on how bad it can be, why not turn it around and focus on how good you got it then... and then using this focus to see what can be done for your fellow human beings around u?

Love yourself, then you can be able to love those around you :)

Sweeeeny Todd

The movie was excellent.. though it turned slightly too gory for me (too much blood flying everywhere) somewhere in the middle but nevertheless, the story is very interesting and the cinematography is excellent. I wonder how the musical in real life is acted out... especially with all the blood letting and how it is represented on stage.
In essence its a love story gone wrong.... in some ways it reminds you of a horror flick of a serial killer on the loose...and coupled with the little nuggets of humor interwoven with the great acting, it makes for a good show.

must watch i say must watch :) but, like some shows we both love (i.e. 881 etc) not all will have the same reactions as we have :p well your loss...

our trip should be cfm 16th July to 30th July.. wha so fast the tickets for 17th is full (damm u all for copying our travel dates! *GRIN*) .. so now its just left all the inbetweens that we gotta settle..

WoW wise i ain't progressing much with gear. but finding fun again with Pvping. i'm gettin' pretty good at deploying my skills at the right moment to destroy the opposition. Respecced my rogue and maybe wanan try pvp with her and to retrain my rogue skills... we'll c.. nowadays too much of WoW i get bored too..

Oh Eugene and me completed halo3 on his xbox ;p then i proceeded to try some online gaming. We also tried Dance Dance revolution. Man.. its tough. for someone that dances salsa etc, its hard for me to score the points and hit those marks on command..

but it sure is a great workout tool :)

Food season has begun...

friday marked the start of my family's chinese new year.

we had the maternal reunion dinner at pu tian, kitchener road.

the uncle seemed to have had a great time belting out hokkien and mandarin songs while the rest of us pretty much watched and chimed in from time to time. =)

'twas a satisfying dinner.

saturday was schoolday, followed by an afternoon with the girls. it's been quite a while since we last hung together. =P

it was an afternoon of board games - stampede, saboteur, zeus and pic pic nik - and a fantastic evening of japanese food and mindless chatter.

i love how candid we are together, and that we are able to talk about almost anything.

most of all, i love the honesty we share. =)

the hubby and i both agreed that it was a really fun night, and we'd want to have another session like that soon...

which is one of the reasons we'd love to get our own place. we love having friends and relatives over.

i miss the days when my brother would wake up, sneak into my room, and place soft toys all around me. and i'd wake up with gwizzly and the piggies next to me.

of course, i miss doing the same to him. =P

the hubby knows. and he encourages me to spend time with my brother by asking him to stay over and us staying over at my parents' place at times.

today brought back all those feelings when my parents' humble place was filled with the paternal relatives because of our potluck of a reunion dinner.

the house was filled with such warmth that makes the house a home.

i'd want a cosy little nest like that one day. =)

ah well...everything in its time. at least we know we can afford something now.

and oh, we caught sweeney todd. fabulous.

'twas a great weekend.

and what a start to 2008....

lotsa stuff happening on the work front.. seems like the shit has hit the fan.... or at least i can see the shit that's about to come my way.. maybe there's some truth to what my fren say about the banking industry this year... hmmmmmmmmmm *rubs chin*

lotsa stuff happening on the home front too but not convenient to talk about it now. It made me realise how different my perspective on life is from others. But utimately it makes me glad that wifey shares the same ideas about life and about us :) thanks baby...

Movie prices are going up (whats up with THAT ?!?!)

ERP gantries are going up..

I hope the demand for waterplace also goes up then i can move on with the next phase and i hope by then property prices go down :) ... well can't blame me... i'm the ever optimist...

July's gonna be exciting again as we will be travelling to NY! This time though not sure if we should do NY --> LA --> LV, or NY --> ORlando and inbetween throw in Boston or Atlantic City... any suggestions?

Oh and we must plan to meet up with josee and tour ard with her.... that ought to be fun ...

so whilst going to work is like fighting all the shit thats happening, coming back home to family and my PC makes it all worthwhile :)

now if i can only find work that won't feel like fighting shit....
