what DnD character are you?

I Am A: Neutral Good GnomeBard (4th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-12

Dexterity-13

Constitution-12

Intelligence-13

Wisdom-13

Charisma-12

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Gnomes are in wide demand as alchemists, inventors, and technicians, though most prefer to remain among their own kind in simple comfort. Gnomes adore animals, gems, and jokes, especially pranks. They love to learn by personal experience, and are always trying new ways to build things. Gnomes stand 3 to 3.5 feet tall and live about 350 to 500 years.

Class:
Bards often serve as negotiators, messengers, scouts, and spies. They love to accompany heroes (and villains) to witness heroic (or villainous) deeds firsthand, since a bard who can tell a story from personal experience earns renown among his fellows. A bard casts arcane spells without any advance preparation, much like a sorcerer. Bards also share some specialized skills with rogues, and their knowledge of item lore is nearly unmatched. A high Charisma score allows a bard to cast high-level spells.

final chinese presentation...

i had my final one day.

and it was bloody hilarious.

it started out well enough...without notes and all. just trying to wing it.

and then my mind just went blank.

my mind went blank of all those chinese characters i prepared on my notes.

and my mind doesn't really go blank in english. but it did in chinese. =P

so i just stood there and went "crap, i lost it".

and then people started laughing and my professor just looked really amused.

i shuffled to the side to look at my notes, before continuing and finishing it off.

that was the start of a whole string of chinese-english boo boos. the other groups, that is.

i was the boo boo of my group. =P

ah well, hope we didn't get a bad grade because of me.

on the bright side, my group's done for the chinese presentations!

now to concentrate on the next two next week. =(

a few delayed pictures of my "not-so-secret" birthday surprise monday...

muchas gracias, ladies and gentlemen.

doggie woggie...

if you know snuffy hubby and i, you'd know we love dogs.

but we can't have none now because hubby's parents don't want dogs in the house.

you can imagine my delight when my girl friend, jac, asked if i wanted to go to the pet farm with her to pick up her labrador retriever pup. =)

here're some pictures from our little adventure today (with some peeing and pooping involved)...

good night ollie. =)

SPCA

on a spur of the moment, we dropped by SPCA last sunday. First time we have both stepped feet into SPCA. The smell of wet dogs hit us and the place looks a bit dingy. But lo and behold, when we entered, we saw, not one, but THREE huskies and 1 x-breed huskie. Wow. 3??!?!? There were a few other pure-breds as well which kinda surprised us to no end.
One was a female with different colored eyes. She was snoozing away so we din't disturb her. There was a male there that was so friendly. he would raise his paw towards us. There was a gentleman that looked to be intent on bringing him home. So he went into the cage to take a closer look at the dog. The dog went to pick up his toy bone and gave it to him. So cute can....
There was another couple with their baby looking to adopt another huskie. This one is rather young and playful.
I sure hope they find good homes.
I can't wait to be able to adopt 1 :p
Sure hope that when the time comes there will be another huskie at SPCA waiting for us :)

Oh last nite went to pick up my mom from the airport. She was coughing quite badly cos it was rather cold in australia. hope she recovers soon!

After that i went to join wifey @ her radio show @ SMU. First time i went into a radio booth and there are so many BUTTONS and KNOBS! *must....resist....pressing.....*
anyhoo.. wifey got me on like as a guest so i talked a whee bit about Wicked. I must say on the playback that i got quite a nice warm voice over the radio :p

*thick skin*

to which we both replied "we are married"
to which she replied "wow so young.. u look 23 only!"
which brought smiles to us both.

ahahahah yay... praises on your birthday is inDeeD good :p

what i did today....

oh in the morning i had a damm wierd dream where i met LKY and had an interview with him. Imagine me, meeting SM LEE for an interview. ahhaha i thought these were the dreams my wife had... :p

so while wife was out, i went on Casual Raiding with my guild to SSC to try to get more pple attuned to BT before the patch is out. We manage to down 2 bosses before i had to stop to go meet wifey :)

wiped 3 times here b4 we got the hang of it...

but 1shotted this giant fish :p

happy birthday wuffy wifey :P

well...its hard to put one over the wifey so she guessed where i was bringing her way before i brought her to her birthday present: A nice spa at AFOND which we had gone b4.
We had the package before and it was a nice experience for us so we opted for the same spa experience again. This time the room we were in was bigger and i was glad we both got to enjoy it (Especially since i had a silly stomach in the morning after grapes). The only bad thing was after that when the lights are on we saw a dead cockroach on the floor. I sure hope we did not step on it! They did try to sell us a package after that but we weren't biting. Its not a place which immediately screamed "Must go again" so na... we are giving it a pass next time.
Afterwards we went across the road to The Marmalade Pantry to have a quick lunch since wife has heard of the place. We had ribeye sandwich with wasabi mayo sauce (which we both love) and a nice chocolate truffle cake for us to enjoy.

sang a little birthday song for her and we tucked right in!

after lunch activity? we proceeded to the in-laws place for a game of mahjong. And as usual, Eugene seemed to be winning *mumble mumble*

Afterwards we had dinner with my dad and my in-laws at that new japanese marche-wannabe at the new wing at rafflecity. Food was so-so but we don't think we will be going back again.

Today though wifey had to go to school for a good 9 hours so i decided that we needed a good break so its off to our fav shopping haunt, vivocity. We had a nice meal @ Kim Gary and watched Horton Hears a Who! HAhahh its a nice movie actually and we did enjoy ourselves. Wifey's gonna buy the DVD and keep it to show our kids next time as we both felt that it can teach our kids quite a lot. She has a lot of good ideas on what to do with our kids in the future so i'm very assured when it comes time for us to have our own bundle of joy.

me fooling around with ice-blended milo.....

me fooling around with ears...

oh in between, we saw lotsa puppies at Holland V and @ vivo. We saw one pretty amazing sight at the Holland V shop. There was this 6month old Labrador and a young jack russel female pup in the adjacent pen. The Lab was very anxious when the russel was brought out for a couple to view. When the russel was returned to her pen, the Lab was reaching out with one paw through the bars as if reaching out for the russel. The russel in turn was trying its darn best to reach back or lick the paw. Finally they did connect paw-2-paw and it was simply eye-opening standing there watching them do that. I think soon we will have to hold back going to pet shops to watch puppies as it gets heart wrenching when you keep going back and see the same pups still there and not being bought.

all in all though, i sure wish wifey will have all her wishes come through this year and may it be as exciting and life-changing as the last year did for her *wink wink*

LOVE YA!

as i near my next birthday...

i find myself having wierd dreams.

of those dreams include me going back to SIA and getting back to dancing proper.

of course, these are merely themes of the dreams. the ways which the themes appear are rather interesting. ah well.

this also means i haven't had much sleep, since dreams mean that your brain's working overtime.

i've been looking forward to this friday for a couple of weeks now, because i'll be able to spend the whole day with the hubby and family.

and so, i'm trying to get everything done before friday, so i can enjoy the day, then head back to books before going to class on saturday.

yes, saturday. sigh.

and i had hoped i could bake another batch of something this weekend.

last saturday we baked a batch of yummy coconut-chocolate chip cupcakes, with coconut-vanilla frosting (homemade) and coconut flakes on top.

and it got rave reviews!

you can imagine my elation since this is my first real try at baking. =P

after which we all packed off to chomp chomp for dinner...before heading back home for a round of saturday night mahjong...

el dia this year is going to be a small and quiet affair, even though it's on a public holiday.

quite unlike last year's...which was rather quiet, but not so small.

i will miss josee on this day, because she was the sneaky one who hatched the plan (which included snuffy hubby) for my little celebration last year.

i hope she likes our gift. =)

on a separate note, i love how snuffy hubby sends me messages and the occasional mms through the days to perk me up. especially during really long days at school.

here's one of the pictures he sent me last monday while i was recording my radio show in school with the tag "Save me!"...

watching an episode of Miami Ink and saw this guy having a picture of Jesus tattooed on him. After the tattoo was done he looked at it in the mirror and said:

"dammm.. handsome looking devil ain't he?"

Leet Flying mount..

FINALLY. my first 70 with a leet flying mount. This baby cost me 5160 gold pieces. After farming for quite a while, i finally manage to get 5000 gold pieces and then proceeded to farm for reputation. Since Shatt Skyguard was my closest one to Exalted, i started working on it. Finally after a few days, i got to exalted and immediately went to buy my flying ray! Check out the screenies :p

OH my guild also completed illidan, which means they have reached the end of WoW game as we know it now. Here's hoping i can take part in their attunement runs and get myself into Black Temple too! *cross fingers*

its gonna be a bright sunshiney day!

past few days of raging downpours have retreated and given way to a bright sunshine morning. I love mornings like this especially since its still rather cooling given the previous days' rains. Reminds me of abroad where the weather is cool yet the sun warms your face.

I'm generally a sunshine-type of person so in a way, so sometimes i need the sun to "recharge" myself (kinda like Ultraman or Superman *blink blink*) plus also i don't have to contend with freezer-cold buses as well as sloshy socks and shoes

call me Mr SunShine :p

corrinne may ftw...

so wifey & i went to watch THE LEAP YEARS....
its like a messy matchup of good moments and the not so good..and its oh so singaporean... all the camerawork that is. i never understood WHY oh WHY does singaporean film seem so grainy, so cheapskate.. and the voice overs and the voicing! You would have thought they would have learnt something.. or just spend the $$ to get better equipment by now... *shakes head* when will they ever learn...

anyhoo.... the storyline is not too bad actually... but the execution, as always, is very lacking.. sigh... even 881's execution i feel is much better.

corrinne may's song was prevalent throughout the movie and well, it was kinda nice. Though the volume and execution of it was rather BLEAH...but still i love her songs and so does the wifey :P

still i wish singapore moviemakers would learn from hollywood in terms of execution and appearance.. at least make it look like its worth the $9+ i m paying for a movie dammit!

The Leap Years

the hubby and me finally went to catch the movie tonight, after much procrastinating.

we read the reviews about how lackluster it was, and got smses from friends on how good it was...and they encouraged us to watch it because Corrinne May's songs are featured in the movie.

we weren't really that keen, but i guess i gave in to the gnawing feeling to see what the movie was like.

the storyline had seemed rather interesting.

now that i've seen it, i have to say i'm rather disappointed.

the two leads were very good-looking, but had no chemistry whatsoever. they were individually rather emotive, but together...there was just no spark.

the only believeable relationships in the show were that of mother and daughter and li-ann's group of girlfriends.

it's set in singapore, and at the windows cafe, which brings back many good memories for me. our office was once situated at club street, right above senso and the wine bar. the boss and i would regularly head down to windows for a chat and coffee. windows has since been torn down to make way for a new cafe. and the club street area has changed tremendously.

seeing windows on the big screen and club street the way i remembered it was rather heartwarming. so that did it for me.

the music featured was appropriate for the movie, but was not appropriate in the way it was used in the movie. long excerpts of Corrinne May's songs were used for several sequences...and even though they seemed to fit the mood of those sequences, they were overused. the movie almost seemed like a prolonged MTV with some speech and drama embedded inside.

there were also too many obviously voiced-over bits and somewhat jumpcuts. it seemed like the whole movie was done in soft focus, which made me wonder if the makers were trying to hide something. or did they just want it to be dreamy?

i love Corrinne May's music, and bawled when "Little Superhero Girl" played (because that was the song that kinda brought the hubby and i together). but there was just a little too much of Ms May in the movie.

perhaps the content is just not movie material. after all, it spans over several leap years and putting it on the big screen could make it rather draggy.

i've only read a couple of catherine lim's books to date, but i'm quite sure her novel (which the movie is based on) should be comprehensive enough for a good read.

maybe we should've stuck to going for "no country for old men".

but on some level, i'm glad we watched it.

perhaps only the hubby will know what i mean.

i saw an accident...

so this morning i was driving the parents to airport and their flight was at Terminal 1. Now you know that stretch of road just before the iconic Changi Airport control tower that dips into a valley? Before i went into the dip, i noticed this motorcyclist who seemed to have stopped on the upslope. So i thought ok, maybe his bike wasn't working. Then i noticed this taxi in the same lane just next to me and i also noticed the taxi wasn't slowing down. Instantly i kinda knew what will happen next....
and so it did... the taxi rammed into the back of the bike. The motorcyclist flew a little bit in the air and landed. He immediately stood up and pranced a bit like he had hot coal in his pants. By then i had drove off..

man i sure hope he is fine.. and i hope the taxi driver compensates the motorcyclist..

talk about a kick in the butt to wake u up in the morning.....

a little dash of velvety music in the morning...

Corrinne may's song popped up on my itouch as i was on my way to work after a long night of non-constructive time in the office.

its simply wonderful

if songs can be tasted like food, hers would be like a rich chocolate, full bodied with a great after taste. oh wait that sounds like wine... well whatever .. i love chocolate so there :p
I think not many other songs can fill me up in such a way where i have instant imagery of how the song would be like in an MTV and leaves me with emotions afterwards that lingers.

i do hope that we will get a chance to catch her in concert in USA when we go over. We tried to ask her to come to our wedding to perform (HAhahhaah) but she din reply my email. oh well....

speaking of food.. i should be embarking on my no-fast-food, no-chocolate food schedule... but unfortunately, i have been restarting and restarting..

heeeheeeeheeeee

pimp my ride.......realistically?

pimp my ride, a show where your old shitty car gets remade into a way way cool, gadget laden outrageously painted ride....
however if you watch the show u will realise something...
that most of the people that get selected for this show? they often live in neighbourhoods that don't seem all that safe.
Then after the cars get pimped, these people have to drive the cars back to the same neighbourhoods. I often wonder what happens to these cars afterwards.... do they sell the car or does it get jacked?

What happens after Pimp my Ride?

interesting food for thought no? :P
